Walk Two Moons
This salamander represents Sal, because people call her Salamander,
because her real name is Salamanca. People like to make fun of her,
because she is a country girl, and they are city people.

Assignment 2:
Quotes, Quotes, Quotes!!!!!!
Task 1
1. Jacob's quote is 'Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins.'. He thinks that it means, "Don't judge someone with knowing what they've been through.
2. Laney's quote is“Everyone has his own agenda” In the story Sal’s dad is so caught up in things that happen around him he doesn’t pay much attention to sal or much of anything she has to say.Sometimes my mom spends so much time dealing with my sister and her work she doesn’t pay any attention to me.
3. Nicolas's quote is 'In the couse of a lifetime, what does it matter?'. He thinks that it means, "In a life of important things, what do the little things matter? It's sort of tlike a team tryout, will you even remember it two years from now?"
4. "You can't keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair."
I think this message relates to the story because Sal’s mom left Sal and her dad and Sal was sad but she did not let the birds nest in her hair. Now that Phoebe’s mom left her, her dad and her sister she is sad and is letting the birds nest in her hair.
I think this message relates to me because I am moving and I will be sad and excited but I will not let the birds nest in my hair.
Task 2
1. Jacob's quote is 'Shoot for the moon, if you miss, you'll land among the stars.'. He thinks that it means that, "If you don't succeed try and try again for a new goal."
2. Laney's quote is ‘Walk it don’t play it” - Anonymous. I think this quote means that get through life being your self and not lying or being fake to impress someone else.
3. Nicolas's quote is 'Do or do not, there is no try'-Unknown. He thinks that this is important because, "You either do something, or don't do it, you cannot try to do it."
4. Alex's quotes is ” The opposite of war not peace its creation” from Rent the movie. I like this quote because I think it is true. I think war is seeing who can destroy the other place faster and the opposite of destroying is creating. That is why I think this quote is true.

Nicolas's story is:
Why dinosaurs are extinct
By: Nicolas
A long time ago, before humans, there were gods and goddesses. They created the earth. Once the earth was created, all that was on it was one piece of land, Pangaea, and the rest was water. Demeter, the goddess of agriculture and nature, was in control of the earth’s vegetation, so she made amazing jungles, vast rainforests, and great plains of grass. She was amazed with what she had done with the earth, but at the same time she was upset that this beauty wasn’t being lived on.
So one day, she asked Zeus if he could make some sort of creature that could live in her domain. So Zeus granted her wish, and, together with Poseidon, created Dinosaurs to live on the earth. Demeter was very pleased with this, so she thanked Zeus and Poseidon. They were very proud.
But one day, while Demeter was creating amazing jungles, she noticed that the dinosaurs were destroying the vegetation. This did not please her. They were destroying her great work of art! Demeter rushed up to Mount Olympus to consult with Zeus and Poseidon. She told them about the dinosaurs, and they did not like what they heard. They rushed down to earth, and, combining wind and water, they created ice, and covered the entire world with ice. Every last dinosaur died.
After the dinosaurs died, Demeter continued to make magnificent forests and jungles, through the disgrace of the dinosaur’s memory. She made some changes, though, to forget about the dinosaurs. She broke apart the Pangaea into 7 continents, and also made different climate changes. That is how the earth is the form and temperature it is now.
She still wanted creatures to inhabit her land, but Zeus and Poseidon had not done a good job, so this time she went to Artemis, goddess of the wilderness and hunt. She asked Artemis if she could create animals. So Artemis created mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and humans. That is why we inhabit the earth today. How we got our technology, however, is another story.
WHT IS GRAVITY
BY: Alex
One day the people of the Earth were happily minding their own business when a sailor came to visit. The sailor said “I have been traveling for many months to get here”. He stated, “People and things across world have been falling off the world”. The people asked him why? But he did not know. People started to panic when one of the people said “why don’t we ask the goddess Alexandra helper of man- kind, what to do”? So they did.
Alexandra said “I do not know what is going on, but I will ask Athena goddess of the Earth what is going on. Athena said” What ever keeps people and things on the Earth has stopped working in some parts of the world.
Alexandra said” It is my duty to protect man-kind so I will go to the middle of the world and be the thing we now call gravity that holds people and things on the Earth. To this day Alexandra is still in the middle of the world being gravity and holding things together.
