Walk Two Moons

Assignment # 1 mini cornell lecture notes... wiki style

This picture reminded us of the "singing tree" that Sal had in her yard in Bybanks, Kentucky.  In chapter 16, Sal's gram had to be rushed to the hospital.  As they were leaving, Sal heard a song come from the tree outside of the hospital.  This had reminded her of her "sining tree" back in Bybanks.  She had layed under the tree to look for the bird sining, but she never saw it.

George's Quotes

" In the course of a lifetime, what does it really matter."  It relates to the book when Pheobe is complaining about the matchin plates and the fried chicken. It relates to me when i complain to my dad about my shoes being to small.

"say hello to my little friend" - scarface

I like it because of the way he says it in the movie.

Morgan

Don’t judge a man until you’ve walked two moons in his moccasins

This relates to the book because phoebe always judges people before she knows the whole situation.  She judges Mary Lou and Ben because of their house, but she doesn’t know what it is like to have a full house.

This relates to my life because I try not to judge people by their appearance, attitude, skin, and by the way they talk.  I think that it is important to give people a chance, because you might end up really liking the person, no matter what they appear to be.

“life is like an hour glass glued to the table”- Anna Nalick

I chose this quote because it reminds me that life is short and it has its ups and downs, but sometimes you just have to make the best of some situations.  This quote reminds me of “ in the course of a lifetime, what does it matter?”  The quote I chose is from the song BREATHE (2 a.m.) written by Anna Nalick.

La’keya’s Quotes (from the book)

Everyone has his or her own agenda

This quote relates to the book because, Prudence is stressed over cheerleading practice so she feels the need to make a big seen. Well I feel that, that big seen she made interfered with everyone else’s agenda.

This quote relates to my life because, at my house my little cousin always tells on people. So when he tells my mom things that are not so important she tells him to go worry about himself. And to go and find something on his agenda to do, so by him telling on everyone that interfered with my mom’s agenda.

La’keya’s Quote

Treat everyone the way you’d like to be treated.

This quote relates to the book because, when Phoebe was talking about Mary Lou, I feel that Phoebe should’ve just treated Mary Lou the same way she wanted to be treated.

This quotes relates to my life and everyone one else’s because, 99 % of the time people are worried about themselves and don’t really care how they treat people. But what should do is treat everyone how they’d like to be treated.
