Walk Two Moons

Assignment #1: Mini Cornell Lecture notes- Wiki Style

We chose this picture because it reminds us of the part in the book when Sal and her grandparents stopped at Mt. Rushmore.  Sals mom stopped at Mt. Rushmore, too, so it reminded Sal of her mom. Her mom also sent Sal a postcard from there with Mt. Rushmore on it.

Assignment #2: Quotes, Quotes, Quotes!

Hannah's Quotes:

"Everyone has thier own agenda"

This message relates to the book because it talks about how everyone has their own things to do. In the book Phoebe has her own agenda and she gets mad at her mom for getting in to her business.  This relates to me because I can't just expect people to always be able to help me because they have their own agenda.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" - Eleanor Roosevelt

This quote means that no one can make you feel unimportant without you letting them. It is important to me because it reminds me to never let anyone make me feel down.

Luna's Quotes:

“ In a course of a life time what does it matter?”

This relates to the book because when Pruden comes back from cheer leading tryouts, she was really worried and sad because she just knew she didn’t make the team. Then Phoebe asked her if it would matter in 5 years, 10 years, and is it that important. This does not matter very much in the course of a life time because she probably wont remember anything in a couple of years.

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.”

Dr. Napoleon Hill

This quote relates to me because every time I believe I can do something, I can do it. I picked this quote because I love this quote and I think it is very true.

Shelby's Quotes:

"You can't keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair."

This quote relates to the book in the fact that almost everyone in the book has birds of sadness over their heads for certain reasons, and some act like the birds are nesting in their hair. This relates to me because I get sad easily and when I do I have to remind myself to keep the birds of sadness out of my hair and keep going on no matter what.

"Try? There is no try. There is do, or do not." - Yoda

I like this quote because I both agree and disagree. I like using this quote when someone says they'll try something. However I don't like when the quote applies to me, like I have to do a big yard job.
